Say Less, Lead More

When coaching leaders, one of the most powerful shifts I see is when they learn to say less and ask more.

It’s easy to feel like leadership is about having the answers, stepping in, or directing the way. But actually, some of the best leadership moments happen in silence—when we hold space, ask a question and let others step into their own thinking.

Coaching helps leaders develop this skill. It builds confidence in listening, in staying curious and in resisting the urge to jump in with a fix. Over time, leaders start to notice how much more their teams bring to the table when they’re given the room to speak, explore and grow.

If you’re trying to develop your leadership impact, try this: ask one more question than you normally would—and say one thing less. The shift can be subtle, but the impact is often huge.

Let your silence make space for someone else's growth.
